Spring Break #5 - 4/8/22

Here's what guest puzzlepicker Ol'Fogie has to say today:

This multi-layer gem really had me scratching my head. The information you

need to solve is very readily available across the interwebs; the tough part is

figuring out EXACTLY to which of the readily available info the images elude.

The clues are good to get you started, but it seems the question marks lead

to even more…

Spring Break #4 - 4/7/22

Here's what guest puzzlepicker Ol'Fogie has to say for us today:

"It's not about the numbers!"

While I firmly believe that statement applies to geocaching, that is not the path I’m going down with today’s puzzle.

I LOVE MATH! Math is constant. Math has rules. Math is the basis for everything. Math is black and white, there’s no room for ambiguity. Numbers help us understand the world, and math helps us understand numbers.

The real-life applications of mathematics are endless. We are surrounded by numbers, equations and algorithms – especially in this age of data science, with huge data sets that can only be understood through statistical models and analysis. Math gives us the ability to view the world in a way nothing else can!

And while today’s puzzle simply states that whichever way you look at it, the sum of 2, 3 and 7 is 12, sometimes…

It's not about the numbers!

(P.S. the checker is broken, but google maps gives a pretty good confirmation.)

Spring Break #3 - 4/6/22

Here's what guest puzzle-picker Ol'Fogie has for us today:

Odd/even. True/false. On/off. Dot/dash. 1/0. I’m sure you’ve all seen plenty of

“binary-type” puzzles in your adventures. This one had a bit of a twist as it has

a secondary layer to it. But, it still comes down to ones and zeros for…

Spring Break #2 - 4/5/22

Here's what guest puzzlepicker Ol'Fogie has to say for today:

There is a plethora of emoji puzzles out there with an abundance of twists and

unique use of the li’l icons. I stumbled across this one and it really got my smiley

face going. Take a look at…

Spring Break #1 - 4/4/22

I'm going to take a little break this week and turn things over to guest puzzlepicker Ol'Fogie.  Here's what he wrote up for us today:

We all subscribe to this blog/newsletter because we love puzzle caches. We look at every nuance

of a cache page for clues. Images, descriptions, given coords, trackable inventory, source code, etc.

can all be the key to the solve. Even the title itself can be a huge hint. But you have to wonder about

a puzzle cache with a title as understated and simplistic as…

Keep on Truckin' - 4/3/22

Today we head to Washington state for a puzzle that was passed along to me recently.  This is the time of year where I start counting down the days until summer vacation.  But fortunately I don't have to wait that long for some fun. I'll soon be making a little jaunt down to New York City and I'm looking forward to heading:
