The Great Pumpkin - 10/28/23
With Halloween right around the corner I figured I'd switch up my usual weekend rerun for one in theme for the occasion. This one was featured back in 2011. From Vermont, everyone loves:

WD80 - 10/26/23
A northern California cacher recently celebrated his 80th birthday, and the geocaching community out there got together with a goal of publishing 80 caches in honor of the occasion. I heard they ended up with even more than that! Here's one of them:

Barred from the Masons? - 10/24/23
I've been pretty busy lately so I'm running another post written by Ol'Fogie:
For most of my life I thought the title of the very popular song, "The Ballroom Blitz" by British glam rock band The Sweet, was "Barroom Blitz." (Check out the YouTube vid here.) That has nothing to do with today's puzzle except that since I first started working on it, the cache dialogue got the song stuck in my head. Anyway, improper breaches of etiquette can get one…

I hope you'll be on the lookout for suitable Fall and Halloween puzzles to send along to me ... and even anything for Thanksgiving or Christmas as well. It's never too early to start thinking about the holidays.

Gimme a break! - 10/8/23
It's the time of year when a lot of schools are having a "fall break" (mine isn't for another week), but this Vermont puzzle was featured here 5 years ago today:
An article by Neal Simon of the Binghamton Press & Sun Bulletin was carried in our local paper this week. The descriptions caught my eye because they were really "colorful." Here's a sample, regarding foliage in the Adirondacks: "Look for a bright display of maize, banana, daffodil, clementine, mustard, yam, burnt sienna, ginger, beet, rhubarb, raspberry, paprika, and pimento-colored leaves of above average brilliance." So If you're thinking about going leaf peeping, the prime time is getting close!

End of a Streak - 10/4/23
Sometimes the end of a streak is a sad occasion, but our beloved Minnesota Twins ended one yesterday that we were very happy to see end. After going 18 straight playoff games (that's dating back to 2004) without a win they beat the Blue Jays. I figure that's worth celebrating. So let's head to the UK where you can check out a nifty little geo-art and learn a little bit about:

Turduckens - 10/2/23
Today we travel to California for a brand new puzzle involving:
Well, I felt like a real dope when I realized that in my efforts to get ahead of things for the weekend I had actually ended up sending yesterday's post early. It's becoming very obvious that I have too much on my plate these days to keep doing this effectively. This isn't the only evidence that I need to cut back on some things ... on Friday I was so tired by the time I left work that I left my purse in my office and when I finally realized what I had done, I had to make an hour's round-trip drive back to get it on Saturday night. I am going to do my best to keep going through the end of the year, but there may be more reruns than usual. After 13 years I may have to call it a day at the first of the year. But if there is anyone (or more than one person) who would be interested in trying to help me keep the blog going, please let me know. It would be hard to let it go, and I would be disappointed, but we've had a good run.
