I've heard from more than one cacher that New Jersey's Lost Cities series is an extremely well done series of caches in what I would call extreme terrain conditions. It sounds like a lot of group expeditions have had a great time doing them. I'll probably never be in a position to brave the conditions myself, but just in case, I started with the:
