Back to the Beginning - 5/16/16

A Texas puzzle from a "Copycat" series of puzzles landed in my inbox recently.  It was inspired by a California puzzle, which itself was inspired by a New York CO's cache that is one I have actually found.  It was fun tracing the path all the way back to its beginning.  I wasn't expecting that:

It Begins At The Strangers' Gate.
