Krypto Kakuro - 4/24/13

Long before I ever discovered geocaching puzzles I enjoyed doing kakuro puzzles, and I still keep a book of them in the car for times I have to wait around for my kids' events to start/finish.  However, until I came across today's Ohio puzzle I had never seen a:

I love it when readers pass along unique puzzles that they think others would enjoy.  I had never seen one like today's Ohio puzzle:

Drawing A Crowd

Tomorrow we'll stay in Ohio another day.  If you know of a fun puzzle you'd like to recommend as a puzzle of the day, send me the link via geocaching.com (I'm the "J" part of  teamajk).

Just Fix It - 4/22/13

The first time I ever heard of Reverse Polish Notation, I thought it sounded like a very politically incorrect description of the way certain calculators worked.  You can learn the real story in today's Minnesota puzzle:

Just Fix It

Tomorrow we'll be in Ohio.

Today wraps up our week of ciphers you may not have seen before.  If you're still stumped figuring out what some of the ciphers could be, you might go back and take a look at this bonus blog I posted a while back (The CO of these caches has approved my pointing you in the direction of the list).   I'll warn you in advance, today's California puzzle could make you hungry:

Two Shades of Gray - 4/12/13

Someone (you know who you are!) sent me a puzzle recently that he had enjoyed.   I had an idea how it might work, but it turned out that idea was wrong.  I knew there had to be at least one puzzle out there that used the idea I had thought of, and it turned out I was able to find one without too much trouble.  The funny thing is, both the puzzle he sent me and the puzzle I found had exactly the same name.  So, today I offer you:

Shades of Gray from California and Shades of Gray from Pennsylvania.

Tomorrow we'll be in California to kick off a whole week of cipher puzzles.

Yacht-Sea! - 4/10/13

When he was still a young child, our team-member "A" had a fascination with the subject of today's California puzzle.  He wanted to play the game constantly, and it was kind of frustrating for me that he could do the scores in his head faster than I could on paper.   Have some fun with:

Yacht-Sea

Tomorrow we'll be in down-state New York.

Facetious Outlandishness - 4/4/13

Today's puzzle is from a fun series in Maryland that I came across recently.  The puzzles increase in difficulty and if you go and find one of the caches, it contains a solving hint for the next puzzle in the series.  Sounds like a fun way to implement a series.  You might prefer to go back and start with the Intro, but your official puzzle of the day (because I really like its name) is:
