Skyscrapers and Thunderbirds - 9/27/19

I recently worked on  fun series of non-geocaching puzzles in a Labor Day Extravaganza,  which contained a super hard sudoku variant that you might like to check out in  this file, on the late page, called "Thunderbirds".  It was really tough but I managed to get through it in the end, due to having a little practice with a more basic form in this memorable puzzle, featured back in 2015:

New York Teams are Number 1? - 9/25/19

The calendar says the season is officially "Fall" now, but around here it's the time of year when two of our favorite seasons ("Baseball" and "Football") overlap. As I've mentioned before, we follow Minnesota's teams since that's where my husband grew up.  With the Twins in the mix for the playoffs and the Vikings not having blown their chances yet, there are good reasons to be optimistic, and plenty of games to watch.  The last two Sundays we found ourselves watching football and baseball at the same time. The dog keeps having to change jerseys, which he must find very confusing.  So, all in all you'll have to forgive us if we disagree with the CO of today's New York puzzle who claims that:

Strange but True - 9/24/19

Today I have another central New York puzzle for you.  I enjoyed doing this series of "spycraft" puzzles several years ago for the interesting stories it relates.  This particular one is almost too strange to believe:

CryptoTurtle - 9/23/19

Well, Fall is officially here.  We had a gorgeous weekend for the last blast of summer, and I made the most of it with some geocaching up in Rochester and a puzzle-themed geocaching event on Saturday. Even though it's not that far, I hadn't been up there on a puzzle run in about 4 years.  It was super to be able to see some friends I hadn't visited with in a long while, and make some finds on caches that have been in the solved pile for way too long.  I even did the finale and one other from the series that starts at this cache, which is memorable to me but hasn't actually been featured here before:

Back to School (Again) - 9/6/19

Fridays used to be days that I'd try to serve up the trickiest puzzles for you.  Back when I was really in a groove I could stockpile a few weeks of puzzles in my queue, which gave me time to work through some of the harder ones.  Today's memorable puzzle was first featured back in 2013. This week feel like the perfect time to head back to:
