I hope you'll indulge me for sharing one of my own central New York puzzles today, because it is such a good fit for the day. This is the long awaited, extra special Pi Day, where not just the month and day get into the act, but the year as well. Geocaching.com is even getting into the spirit, offering official digital souvenirs to everyone who attends an event or logs a "mystery" cache today. However you celebrate, let me take you the opportunity to wish you a very:
Happy Pi Day! (PIE 3.14159265359)

Welcome!

Friday the 13th - 3/13/15
Today's Minnesota puzzle is one that I looked at some time ago, thinking I might share it on the Friday following Thanksgiving, but when I didn't get through it in time, I set it aside and forgot about it. When it recently landed in my inbox I was determined to figure out what it was all about. I don't want to risk forgetting about it again if I try to wait until November, so I figure a Friday the 13th is as good a day as any to feature a puzzle about:

If I decide to be an idiot - 3/12/15
Today's California puzzle caught my eye recently. I guess I'll have a cache to find someday:
If I decide to be an idiot ...
Tomorrow we'll be in Minnesota.

All that glitters is gold - 3/11/15
Find number 1000 is known as the "golden" one for geocachers, and the tribute caches that we put out for each other in honor of that milestone are one of my favorite kinds of finds. Today's New York puzzle is:

Yellow Snow? - 3/10/15
I recently opened the back door of my car and was surprised to see what looked like a decent quantity of yellow-ish snow on the floor behind the passenger seat. You can guess what flashed through my mind ... but then I spotted an exploded Mountain Dew can over to the left. I guess you can tell I am still a southerner at heart, not realizing what could happen with these crazy cold temperatures we've been having lately. Anyway, as I often do, I wondered if I could find a puzzle about yellow snow. Turns out there are several traditionals and challenge caches with that theme, but as far as a puzzle the best I could do was this one from Minnesota (where they certainly know a thing or two about the cold):

What time is it? - 3/9/15
I hope everyone remembered to set their clocks ahead yesterday ... otherwise you'll be running behind for everything today. While I hate losing that hour, I love having that extra light in the evenings. If it were up to me I would just keep daylight savings time year-round. It seems to take me a while to get around to all of our clocks, so I'm sure I'll be asking myself repeatedly today, "Is that really what time it is?" Meanwhile today's Oregon puzzle asks:
What Time is it in Berlin?
