Combining Subjects - 3/30/21

Today's post contributed by Ol'Fogie reads:

A few years ago yomegranate, jacktn and I went on a caching run in Georgia to

celebrate Jack’s birthday. We stumbled across this puzzle that immediately caught

my interest in both math and history. As a student I always loved both subjects

so I was pretty excited to get edumacated in some...

Too Much Pie - 3/29/21

My school isn't having an actual Spring Break this year, but fellow puzzler Ol'Fogie is helping me take a little time off here at GPotD. Here's what he has prepared for us today:

Today’s Tennessee puzzle is all about pies. Lemon, chocolate, cherry, cinnamon, strawberry -  and all with whipped cream! So, here’s a chance to exercise your brain if not your body as you...

Disjointed Title - 3/28/21

Ol'Fogie is my guest puzzle picker this week, and here's what he had to say about today's puzzle:

Much of the time puzzle cache titles have something to do with the puzzle itself.

Often they are even a clue to solving. But then there are times when the title has

absolutely nothing to do with the mystery and refers to the final hidey hole. This is

one such Georgia cache where the title points to the location of the final at...

Dragon Slayer - 3/27/21

Under normal circumstances I'd be having a Spring Break about now, so I'm going to take a little time off this week and let fellow puzzler Ol'Fogie take the wheel. Here's what he has prepared for us today:

Today we feature a simple maze from British Columbia. Did you know that the patron saint of England, Saint George, was not English at all? He was a Roman soldier born around 275 AD. The tale of his dragon slaying has been told in many ways through art, music, books and now via...

Today's puzzle takes us back to Croatia.  I admit that I haven't finished this one yet, but I've been having fun with it and am going to get some friends to listen in and see if they can help.  I hope you'll get a few grins out of:

Simon Says - 3/18/21

When I took a look at this Tennessee puzzle that popped up yesterday, I realized the posted coords were very close to the (now closed) restaurant where my husband and I had our first dinner date back in 1988.  I think I still have one of their matchbooks in a drawer somewhere. Since we're only one day past the day in question, I figured it was still OK to play:

Happy Pi Day! - 3/14/21

I'm sure there will be a plethora of new pi-related puzzles being published today, so I'm thinking I'll wait and see if there are any that catch my eye and feature them in the coming weeks.  Instead, I'll post a Pennsylvania puzzle by my good friend captainmath, host of the longest consective series of Pi-Day geocaching events anywhere.  The streak continues with an event today and I look forward to the time when I'll finally be able to join him at one of these events.  Today's puzzle was part of a pi-shaped geo-art that he published on this day back in 2016:

Easy as Pi 09: Are You Happy Now?

March Madness - 3/12/21

It was exactly one year ago that the ramifications of the Covid-19 pandemic really started to hit home for me.  At the beginning of the week it all still felt pretty far away, but by this Thursday everything started changing so rapidly that just about the time I began wrapping my head around one big change or cancellation, something else had happened. I know we're not out of the woods yet, but it's good to see that we're making progress. Today's puzzle takes us to California, and when it was passed along to me I knew this would be the perfect time to share it with you. I hope you'll enjoy the "Three Point Play" in:
