Wrap it up! - 4/30/22

This Utah puzzle has been featured here before, but since it's been a very long time and it was passed along to me recently I figured it could make another appearance.  Sorry for the late posting ... I've been trying to write a new puzzle cache for Blue Switch Day and it's taking me forever to:

New World Cache - 4/26/22

Today's New York City puzzle is one that I enjoyed being able to log on my recent visit there.  I've been enjoying getting out and doing a little caching lately.  I haven't found more than 20 caches in a month since the summer of 2019. This one felt very timely:

Simon Says ... - 4/24/22

Today's puzzle takes us to Tennessee.  It's supposed to be a gorgeous day up near 80 degrees today here in central New York (this after waking up to several inches of snow as recently as last Tuesday morning).  What to do with such a nice day?:

The Simple Joy - 4/15/22

Today's puzzle takes us to Tennessee.  Most evenings after work my neighbor and I walk our dogs together, but today I ran late and ended up going by myself.  While I missed our usual chat, it was a very nice evening and I saw lots of different birds out enjoying the first hints of Spring.  At the end of a long day it was good to take a moment to listen to their songs and just reflect on:

Spring Break #7 - 4/10/22

Here's what guest puzzle-picker Ol'Fogie has to say for his last offering (for now):

This mystery recently dropped in my neck of the woods and I was immediately

intrigued. Right away, I noticed something that seemed out of place, but I couldn’t

make the connection. Then, I created a brain trust with my friend antbedy and

she discovered the pivotal starting point. Sure enough, that was the key to the

solve and I was kicking myself because…

Spring Break #6 - 4/9/22

Here's what guest puzzlepicker Ol'Fogie has to say for today:

I’ve always loved spam. The salty goodness. It was part of regular grocery store
trips with my mom. Nothing to notice. Nothing out of the ordinary. Nothing different
about it. It’s just good, simple comfort food.

I grew up eating spam. Sliced, crisped in the frying pan, with rice and a fried egg.
I love it between toasted Hawaiian buns or in an omelet...just SO GOOD! I’ve even
fixed spam spaghetti (onions, garlic, spam, and a jar of good ole’ Ragu).

Then scammers had to come along and give the tasty treat a bad connotation. I still
love the canned goodness, but I hate running every text message and email
through…

Spring Break #5 - 4/8/22

Here's what guest puzzlepicker Ol'Fogie has to say today:

This multi-layer gem really had me scratching my head. The information you

need to solve is very readily available across the interwebs; the tough part is

figuring out EXACTLY to which of the readily available info the images elude.

The clues are good to get you started, but it seems the question marks lead

to even more…

Spring Break #4 - 4/7/22

Here's what guest puzzlepicker Ol'Fogie has to say for us today:

"It's not about the numbers!"

While I firmly believe that statement applies to geocaching, that is not the path I’m going down with today’s puzzle.

I LOVE MATH! Math is constant. Math has rules. Math is the basis for everything. Math is black and white, there’s no room for ambiguity. Numbers help us understand the world, and math helps us understand numbers.

The real-life applications of mathematics are endless. We are surrounded by numbers, equations and algorithms – especially in this age of data science, with huge data sets that can only be understood through statistical models and analysis. Math gives us the ability to view the world in a way nothing else can!

And while today’s puzzle simply states that whichever way you look at it, the sum of 2, 3 and 7 is 12, sometimes…

It's not about the numbers!

(P.S. the checker is broken, but google maps gives a pretty good confirmation.)

Spring Break #3 - 4/6/22

Here's what guest puzzle-picker Ol'Fogie has for us today:

Odd/even. True/false. On/off. Dot/dash. 1/0. I’m sure you’ve all seen plenty of

“binary-type” puzzles in your adventures. This one had a bit of a twist as it has

a secondary layer to it. But, it still comes down to ones and zeros for…

Here's what guest puzzlepicker Ol'Fogie has to say for today:

unique use of the li’l icons. I stumbled across this one and it really got my smiley

Spring Break #1 - 4/4/22

I'm going to take a little break this week and turn things over to guest puzzlepicker Ol'Fogie.  Here's what he wrote up for us today:

We all subscribe to this blog/newsletter because we love puzzle caches. We look at every nuance

of a cache page for clues. Images, descriptions, given coords, trackable inventory, source code, etc.

can all be the key to the solve. Even the title itself can be a huge hint. But you have to wonder about

a puzzle cache with a title as understated and simplistic as…

Keep on Truckin' - 4/3/22
