Children today get a plethora of vaccinations to
ward off and prevent many diseases. They get shots for polio, diphtheria,
measles, mumps, rubella and many other frightful malodies. BUT, this item from
Maryland points out one of the most prolific childhood plagues has yet to be
addressed by the scientific community: COOTIES! That’s right, that germ or
repellent quality transmitted by other obnoxious or slovenly children generally
of the opposite sex. It reaches epidemic proportions in every school and every
playground, yet we leave the children on their own to fend off this dreadful
