Today we're visiting a brand new puzzle from California. I have to say I don't think I ever thought I'd be advocating anyone trying:
Tomorrow we'll ...
Today's California puzzle was recommended to me earlier today and happens to be perfectly themed for today, as I've been thinking back to when:
Friday will mark the 10th anniversary of this blog and although I had seriously considered letting it go at that point, I'm willing to keep it going a bit longer. You can expect to see a lot more reruns from the early years, but I'll do my best to keep adding in new and as yet undiscovered puzzles as I can find them. If everyone who reads this would be willing to recommend a puzzle to me every month or so I'm sure I would have more than enough. I hope you'll consider helping me keep things going.
Tomorrow we'll ...
Today I'm rerunning a Washington post I shared in this date in 2017. I always enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles during the holidays, and did an old favorite one with my daughter on Christmas night. We even got my husband involved towards the end. I have lots of others I might still dig out, so this could be a holiday marked by a:

Today's central New York puzzle taught me something I didn't know, and made me laugh at the same time. I bet you're not expecting a holiday puzzle with a title like:
Tomorrow we'll ...
P.S. If you found that one interesting, here are a couple more: Gavels and Greatest of All Times & 1 of Many cleaning TOTTs
I didn't realize it, but apparently in addition to being the winter solstice yesterday was National Crossword Puzzle Day. For the last 200+ days my son and I have worked on the New York Times crossword puzzle either together or in tandem. We make a good team and it's been a fun diversion. Today's puzzle takes us to California for:
Harmony's Humble Holidays - December 21st
I'd also like to recommend this intriguing non-geocaching puzzle crossword that I worked on as part of a recent puzzlehunt. It's a diagramless crossword, meaning that you have to figure out the dimensions of the grid and construct it yourself as you work out the clues. (I'll have to see if I can find a geocaching puzzle with one of those). I've only done a couple of them, so it was fun getting this one to work out. Even when you think the puzzle is finished, there's more to do, and I found it quite entertaining.
Today's New Jersey puzzle was recently recommended to me, and I enjoyed it. Just:
Tomorrow we'll ...
In the process of going back and getting all of last year's featured posts bookmarked I realized I managed to miss a day in the week before Christmas ... so this one is being posted a bit late, and backdating it. It looks like I did the same thing back in 2016 when I first featured this Minnesota puzzle appropriately entitled:
I got my grades turned in so I'm just about ready for a long winter's nap. Today's puzzle takes us to Nebraska, and would be a fun one to do with any mini-puzzlers in your life:
The 4th Day of Cachemas: A Long Winter's Nap
Tomorrow we'll ...
Today's brand new California puzzle was inspired by the work of Eric Berlin, whose puzzles I've enjoyed myself. His New York Times crossword puzzle from11/29/20 was one of the better ones in recent memory, in my opinion. I purchased his "Puzzlesnacks" book but ended up giving it to my mother-in-law as a present when she found herself without any puzzles to do earlier during the pandemic. Take a spin at the:

P.S. For anyone who's interested, we did wake up to just under 12 inches of snow yesterday. The sad part is that I'm not sure any of it will actually stick around another week so we can have a white Christmas. A foot of snow is nothing to sneeze at, but we're sure happy we're not digging out like the folks about an hour south of us who got about 40 inches(!)
Today's cache takes us to Missouri. I don't know about you, but we're going to wake up to a:

Today marks the 250th birthday* of Ludwig van Beethoven, so in honor of the occasion I'm re-sharing this central NY puzzle I first featured back in 2012:
Happy Beethoven's Birthday! -- Schroeder
*Apparently they're not positive what day he was born, but since he was baptized on 12/17/1770, it seems like most sources think he was born within a day or two of that date.

The choice of today's Ohio puzzle was sparked by the storm of controversy over a certain op-ed that came out recently. If you missed the story, a quick google should fill you in on:

Today's Georgia puzzle is one that I shared back in 2015. It's the last week of the semester, so I'll be giving and grading a lot of exams. If I had one bit of advice for my students about their work before turning in their math tests it would be:

Today's Colorado puzzle is one that I featured back in 2012, and it inspired one of my own puzzles. I hope it's ok to share it in:

Today I'm sharing a tough California puzzle I first featured back in 2014. I was fascinated to learn yesterday that a long-undecoded message left by the Zodiac killer has finally been cracked. Here is a video made by one of the codebreakers that gives an easy to follow explanation for how it was done. I think any of us who enjoy solving puzzles can relate to the processes that are described, and be really impressed at the results they were able to achieve! It's only a shame that the decryption doesn't lead them any closer to the identity of:

Today we travel to Illinois for puzzle I thought was pretty cool, but apparently it's:

Over the years I have enjoy seeing different versions of puzzle caches that built around advent. The ones I am recalling have been in Sweden, although I wouldn't be surprised to learn that they are found in other places as well. One form is a single cache that requires you to solve multiple pre-existing puzzle caches (not always holiday-related), with specifics being revealed one at a time when the cache page updates each day. Another version is a series of caches where a new one comes out each day. I've found both kinds to be a good source of fun. Here's one that celebrates another Swedish tradition:

With Hanukkah starting tomorrow I figured I'd share this in-theme puzzle from Connecticut that is part of a series:

Today we travel to the Isle of Man for a fun little game that's a nice exercise in logic. You've got a good chance of beating me on the leaderboard for:
Tomorrow we'll ...
Today's puzzle from Canada's Alberta province is one I featured way back in 2011. I received my first Christmas card in the mail the other day, and it's gotten me thinking about what I'll do for our cards this year. After spending the last 9 months pretty much just sitting in the house, it's going to be a good trick to come up with enough interesting news to put together this year's:
Tomorrow we'll ...
Yesterday was the perfect day to drive a few miles up the road to the tree farm and pick out my Christmas tree. The sun was shining, there was some snow on the ground (and none on the roads) and it wasn't too cold. Mind you, I don't have it decorated yet, but at least I've taken the first step. So today I thought we'd travel to Michigan for the first puzzle in a series of 33:

Today we'll be visiting a puzzle in Finland. In the words of the immortal Tom Lehrer it's time to "drag out" the:

I am excited to have spent some time caching this weekend. I did a newish Adventure Lab with a friend (distanced, of course) and logged the bonus cache as my first "unknown" cache since March 1st. Who could have imagined back then what the next 9 months would bring? I can't believe it's December 1st already. It was always a special day to me when I was little, since it marked the first day we started getting ready for Christmas. My mother would get out the advent calendars for us to start opening and haul the "portable" record player upstairs and set a stack of Holiday LP's for us to play as my sister and I went to sleep. Mitch Miller and the gang always came up first. For the last 22 years we've had another reason to celebrate today since it's the birthday of the "A" in teamajk. Whatever you may be celebrating today, I hope you'll enjoy today's Connecticut puzzle:
Tomorrow we'll ...
Now that Thanksgiving is behind us many of us are turning our eyes towards Christmas. Today I'm sharing the first couple of puzzles in a cute series that popped up in Connecticut recently. It's been quite a year already ... here's hoping that our celebrations don't turn into:

Over the years I have featured a lot of puzzles with a turkey or Thanksgiving theme. As I was looking over the possibilities for today's post I saw a lot of ones I had already shared but I also happened to notice a sequel to one featured back in 2018, which took us to Australia. Since you can never have too much turkey on Thanksgiving, I'm sharing both the original and the previously unfeatured sequel here today:

Today's puzzle takes us to Australia. We've always been big game players around here, and we recently went back to a game that we hadn't played in a long time. The jury is still out on whether we're actually enjoying it or not. It may turn out to be a bit like:

Today's puzzle takes us to Connecticut. This time of year I end up watching all kinds of baking on television. This past week's viewing included a gingerbread construction contest, several cookie challenges, and my favorite, the "Holiday Baking Championship." I'm not a huge fan eating gingerbread myself, but one of my very few memories of my grandmother is making gingerbread men with her. I hope you'll enjoy this:

Today's puzzle takes us to Czechia. It was later than last year, but I still wasn't ready to see our first blanket of snow for the season on the ground when I got up this morning. This round won't last long, but we know it won't be long before we get more. At least noone has to shovel this pretty:

Today's puzzle takes us to California. I was saddened today to hear of the passing of Alex Trebek. I have a lot of fun memories of watching "Jeopardy" with my parents and when the local TV station had a contest where you could win a chance to be on the show we all went and took the placement test in hopes of being chosen (Dad was the only one of us to score high enough to get in the running, but he wasn't the one picked to appear on the show). It sounds like they still have enough taped shows to run for a few more weeks. I suppose the show will go on somehow, but it's going to be pretty sad to watch Alex's final:

Today's puzzle takes us to California. My father was very interested and active in politics, and had an encyclopedic knowledge of political history. I have many memories of watching the televised election returns with him and learning a lot from his commentary throughout the process. It's too early to know for sure what's going to happen tonight, and how long it will take for the outcome to be clear. It's certainly not been a typical:

Today's puzzle takes us to Oklahoma. My big accomplishment yesterday was baking my favorite chocolate cake (the "Reine de Saba" from Julia Child's "Mastering the Art of French Cooking"). My mother used to make it for her French students when I was a kid and I would routinely request it as a birthday cake. I only bake one about every 10 years or so, but I figured this was the perfect year to indulge. I have definitely not mastered the art of French cooking, but it did turn out well in the end despite a couple of minor mishaps along the way. If you ever go to all the trouble to make one, I'd recommend doing like I do and make a double recipe so you'll have a two-layered cake. It's so dense and fudgy I'd never try it as a:

Today's cache takes us to California. Back in April I wrote a post lamenting the fact that the baseball season had not started, and reminiscing about the team I grew up rooting for, the Los Angeles Dodgers. I was born in a suburb of L.A. (although I lived there less than a year before my parents moved to Tennessee) and I claimed them as my team when I started watching them at the age of 8. Once my husband's beloved Minnesota Twins had been eliminated from the playoffs this year I started rooting for the Dodgers again in earnest, and was thrilled that they won the world series the other night. I can't believe it was 32 years ago when I was in college and rooting for them in:

Today's puzzle takes us to Minnesota. I've got my pumpkin, but haven't taken time to carve it yet. Even though we may not see any trick-or-treaters this year it just wouldn't be Halloween without having a jack-o-lantern on the doorstep. Here's your chance to do a little:

With Halloween under a week away I figured it was time for some in-theme puzzles. We don't get many trick-or-treaters even under normal circumstances, so I don't expect we'll see very many this year. But I will certainly need to by some candy in order to be prepared, just in case! Let's head to Texas for:

If you're as swamped as I've been lately, it's fun to come across a puzzle that's easy, yet fun. The one I'm sharing with you today was inspired by this Colorado one that someone sent to me, but it's been broken for a long time. Fortunately I was able to suss out how to make one of my own, that works. Have some fun with:

Well, rats. I was sure I had queued up today's puzzle over the weekend, because I knew which one it was going to be. This Connecticut puzzle was recommended to me recently, and was just found after being lonely for almost 4 full years! Sorry I'm so late with:

Today's Wisconsin puzzle is one that I shared 5 years ago, but when I came across it again it made me grin, so I decided it was worth featuring again. You'll want to be sure to check out the street view of the cache location after solving:

We had a beautiful Fall day today, and the reports are that the leaves are at about 75% of their peak color. I should really find the time to take a short drive and do a little leaf peeping. In honor of the changing leaves let's head to Minnesota for a pair of puzzles, one that hasn't been shared here before, and its sequel which I posted way back in 2016:

I can't remember who passed along this Iowa series to me, but I had fun perusing the variety of puzzles it contains. There are 125 different ones, so you might not want to try it all in one sitting. Here's one near the beginning:

Today's puzzle takes us to New Jersey. Summer is well and truly behind us now, but I'm already looking forward to next year and the opportunity to loll around by the pool. I really missed doing that this summer, so I'll be up for an epic:

Today's puzzle takes us to England. I have always had a special affinity for the beach, but the closest I'm getting these days is this little zen garden I've got, complete with miniature:
It's hard to believe that it's October 1st already. Our leaves have rapidly started to fall, and before long I'll be picking out a pumpkin for the front porch. I chose today's Minnesota puzzle in honor of this "gordgeous" time of year:

Tomorrow we'll visit New York City.
Today's recent Maryland puzzle really struck a chord with me, because it was written in honor of a favorite teacher. My parents were both teachers, and my father was an Education professor in charge of teacher training for many years. I hope you'll think of your own favorite teachers while perusing this puzzle written:

I spent a while this evening poking around looking at Minnesota puzzles, and came across several I want to go back and spend a little more time with before sharing them with you here. I have to say that this one made me laugh, and I think it's a fun way to celebrate our Minnesota Twins winning the Central Division and getting to keep playing past the regular season. I'm glad they're providing a few more chances to (virtually):

The NFL football season is now well under way, and even though our team is off to a rotten start, it's good to see them back in action ... some things are the same, but a lot is definitely very different. Today's cache takes us to Arizona. I am not much of a drinker, but one of my favorite treats at the beach is a frozen strawberry daiquiri. There were no beaches for me this summer, but a few weeks ago when the grocery store was selling packages of strawberries on a buy 2 get 3 free sale it occurred to me that we should try making some ourselves. We pulled out the 30 year old blender and I found a recipe that used the coconut rum we had on hand (we usually mix it with pineapple juice). Yum, yum! After adding a little dollop of whipped cream on top I almost felt like I was on vacation. That's why today I'm appreciating:

Today's California puzzle is another that I tested pre-publication. I had a good time this summer finally starting to put out a series of puzzles loosely based on a Nancy Drew theme. I've been perusing all of the titles of the books and figuring out how I could work them into puzzle caches. So far I'm about half way through and I have ideas for a few more to come. One of the titles was "The Mystery of the 99 Steps" which presented the perfect opportunity, if I could manage to pull it off. It took a lot of planning, but I've been pleased with the results. But the puzzle I'm point you to today (which I haven't shared here before) is the original California one that inspired it. I still have my old composition-style notebook with all of my work written down for Kablooey's:

Today's puzzle takes us to Canada's province of British Columbia. We're just about ready for the launch of our team's football season tomorrow. The ceremonial Viking horn has been dusted off and given a test blow, and everyone's Viking garb has been located except for the dog's. He's currently wearing his Twins shirt, so that may have to suffice. How about you,:

Two related series of caches in Australia were brought to my attention recently. The "F" plate series is meant to be training ground for the harder "P" plate series. I've been meaning to go back and look at more of both series, but this is the one that was specifically recomended to me:

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend. As I have for the last several years, I spent a good portion of it working on puzzles in Mark Halpin's Labor Day Extravaganza with some friends. It's one of those age old questions ... what's your generic word to refer to any carbonated drink: pop, soda, or coke? I grew up well into "coke" territory, but married a "pop" guy, and now live in a "soda" state. Today's New Jersey puzzle discusses a couple of local beverages and encourages you to:

As I worked on today's California puzzle the other day, it occurred to me what a strange language we have, where a single phrase can have two pretty much completely opposite meanings. I know in the past I've referred to a situation as "all downhill from here," meaning that we had gotten through the hardest part. But on the other hand, if things are "headed downhill" then they're definitely not good. Just think about that the next time someone says:

Today's downstate NY puzzle was passed along to me recently. It got me thinking about the fact that we've gotten so little actual mail lately, it's been pathetic. Several days a week the truck just drives right on by without stopping at our box. At this point I'd even welcome:
